I have found that during this unprecedented time, I am online shopping more and more than I used to. My bank balance, once in a comfortable, affordable state, now stares back at me in shame as I find that it seems to keep decreasing week by week. So I decided to find ways to earn money out of the comfort of my own home...
1. Paid Surveys

Taking part in paid surveys can be a hard task especially when you don’t know which sites are reliable. I recently signed up to YouGov which is a site that allows you to voice your opinion, take part in polls and it notifies you when a paid survey is ready for you to complete. After each survey you complete, you are given a certain amount of points which contribute to redeeming a reward once you have the right amount of points. For example, once you have 5,000 points, you can redeem a £50 bank transfer reward. However, you do not earn a lot of points in a short space of time so this kind of money-making requires a lot of patience.
2. Microsoft Rewards

Not many people know this, but if you set your default search engine to Bing and create a Microsoft account, you can earn points every time you search for something. Then, when you have enough points, you can claim rewards such as gift cards for many different shops and cafes and sweepstakes for items such as a Surface Pro or X-Box. This way of money-making is a lot more efficient than the YouGov option, especially if you’re someone with little patience as the points take little time to build up and you are even given plenty of activities to take part in so that your points count keeps rising.
3. Sell Unwanted Belongings

I have been selling on eBay for a couple of years and have found that I can easily make money from selling items of mine that I no longer want, need or use. I recently set up a Depop account as I went through my wardrobe and found plenty of clothes that I no longer wear so I thought I might as well make some cash out of selling them. This is a nice way to make money; you can decide how much you sell items for and I always feel rewarded when someone has bought something from me.
